I have witnessed incredible suffering and brutality in present day, Bethlehem but nothing that compares to Herod’s brutality. The place of Jesus’s birth, where angels invited outcast shepherds to come adore the Christ child, is still suffering. And for some reason, the suffering there is unparalleled. Layer upon layer upon layer of brutality and conflict resulting from our inability to lay down our religiosity, and take up an authentic gritty faith. Faith whose heart breaks with G
